Snacks are to be enjoyed by all types of kids, whether it’s contains wheat or not. Here are some easy, tasty gluten free snacks to satisfy children with gluten intolerance.
The first one is apple crisps. They are as delicious as they sound! This is the ideal crispy snack if you’re dying for a sweet treat but wanting to keep it healthy. All you need is 4 local apples (sliced as thin as you can manage), 1 Tbsp cinnamon. No catch, no sugar.
Preheat oven to 90-degree C. Slice apples and toss with cinnamon. Lay out on a grease-proof paper-lined cookie sheet and bake those fellas for about 1 hour. Turn them over and bake for another 2-3 hours or until lightly browned and crispy. Enjoy seeing your child snack contently.
Another favourite of gluten free nibbles are snack mixes. This one is easy and quite self-explanatory. Good ingredients to use for this is peanuts, dried fruit, raisins, almonds, popcorn, sunflower and coconut flakes. This is why the nutritionist at ChewyMoon makes some of the snacks mixed so they get their fair share of fibre and protein, but unfortunately there may be traces of gluten in our products.
The mix is definitely child-approved. Parents liked that it’s not boring, like the same old boring gluten free granola bar recipes. Of course, if you have small containers, keep them and store them for easy use and you could put the mix in sandwich or snack sized bags. Gluten free snacks like this mix would be wonderful for packing school lunches.
